What a small world! Back when I was still studying my MBA, when I just arrived in Edmonton, I reached out to a Filipino community called Bukas Loop Sa Diyos. There, I met friends and one of them is Rene. He often took pictures of the community events, but he also knew I had a photography business.
After my wedding, my husband and I moved and started coming to St Thomas More parish. There, I met Mary Ann who helped connect me with different people. Little did I know, her son was getting married!
In summer 2023, Rene asked about my availability to take pictures for Raymond and Ada. I was happy for Mary Ann’s family. After discernment, I agreed to become their wedding photographer.
Beautiful Blessings from the Beloved Guests
The Nuptial Mass was held in St Thomas More and included the wedding lasso tradition. Father Mike’s homily reminded us about love - love is about carrying the cross. I was grateful to be a part of the celebration together with their friends and family.
Smiles, Hugs, and Congratulations After the Mass
As the new husband and wife retreated, the guests applauded. Everyone congratulated Raymond and Ada, truly blessing them with their love.
The reception was held at the University of Alberta’s Faculty Club with special decorations. My favorite is the table centers with pictures of Raymond and Ada when they were young. The guests were chatty and so joyful, I felt touched with their happiness.
Before I finished my coverage, I got a chance to quickly edit a few photos. With the help of the family member, we presented a slideshow of the holy matrimony. Raymond and Ada were surprised and grateful and the guests loved them!
